Community Involvement-an Integral Part of UMB Culture
United Mississippi Bank has a legacy of community investment in the six markets we serve. Giving back to local communities is an integral part of our culture, not only by generously donating money for sponsorships, events, and financial education, but by encouraging and supporting our employees' involvement in community projects, events, and volunteer organizations.
Working with the local Chamber of Commerce, UMB helped recruit teachers to Adams County. We believe education is the key to growing our economy. UMB provided tuition scholarships to Education students attending Copiah Lincoln Community College and continually supports both Alcorn and Co-Lin as well as the local public and private schools in our markets. In order to increase financial education in local high schools, UMB annually offers to fund, at no cost to schools, an online financial education program to all the public and private high schools in Adams, Amite, Jefferson, Franklin, Wilkinson Counties, and Concordia Parish. The program has been a tremendous success.
UMB is proud to have been named 2003 Business of the Year by Natchez Adams County Chamber of Commerce. Committed to growing our economy, we were instrumental in the inception of Natchez Now, an organization made up of the public and private sector, to fund and strengthen economic development in the Miss-Lou.
Investing in the communities we serve is the UMB way.
